Carlos Ray Queen, 86, of Ashland, Ky died Sunday, August 18, 2024 at his home in Ashland. He was born November 4, 1938 in Boyd County, Ky a son of the late Alfonso and Edna Mae Holbrook Queen. He was a deacon for over 50 years at Beech Street Christian Church and he attended Durbin Nazarene Church. He is preceded in death in addition to his parents by his first wife Rita Pruitt Queen, two brothers, and a sister. He is survived by his wife Charlotte Davis Queen, a son Delbert Ray “Dale” (Tanya) Queen of Catlettsburg, Ky, a step-daughter Ginger Rae Peters of Ashland, Ky, two step-grandchildren Michaela D. Swenson and Christopher D. Peters, and a brother Ronnie (Betty) Queen of Bolts Fork, Ky. A graveside service for Carlos will be held Wednesday, August 21, 2024 at 1 pm at the Ashland Cemetery Mausoleum Chapel with Pastor Victor Messer officiating. Friends may call at the Lazear Funeral Home in Ashland from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm Wednesday. There will be a precession to the cemetery from the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Durbin Nazarene Church at 28410 US 23, Catlettsburg, Ky 41129. Lazear Funeral Home is both honored and privileged to have been entrusted with the care of Mr. Queen.
