Carolyn Faye Jarvis McSweeney, 89, of Ashland, Ky died Friday, January 10, 2025 in Huntington, WV. She was born March 14, 1935 in Ashland, Ky a daughter of the late Daniel Boone and Madelyn Gehringer Jarvis. She was a lifelong Catholic but attended Community Presbyterian Church with her daughter and son-in-law in her later years. She was retired from Sears and was the officer manager for CARES. She is preceded in death in addition to her parents by her brothers Charles and Daniel Jarvis, her stepfather Joseph Hair, and a daughter Melissa Picklesimer. She is survived by four daughters Kathleen (J. Stewart) Schneider, Alice Serey, Madonna (Christopher) Peslis, and Elizabeth (Donald) Rothermich, four grandchildren Joseph Serey, Kathleen Evans, Philip Rothermich, and Catrina Serey, and seven great-grandchildren. Services for Carolyn will be conducted Saturday, January 25, 2025 at 1 PM at the Lazear Funeral Home Chapel in Ashland by Father Paul Prabell with burial to follow in Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home one hour before service time Saturday. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to CARES at 2516 Carter Ave, Ashland, Ky 41101. Lazear Funeral Home is both honored and privileged to have been entrusted with the care of Mrs. McSweeney.
