Cecil Young, Jr., 75, of Catlettsburg, Ky died Friday, March 12, 2021 at his home. Cecil was born February 10, 1946 in Ashland, Ky a son of the late Cecil and Magnolia Thompson Young, Sr. He was an Army Veteran who served for two years, he was a Self-Employed Carpenter through Carpenters Union Local 472, and he was a Transporter for PTI. He is preceded in death in addition to his parents by a brother Noah Young. He is survived by his wife Bobbie McDowell Young, a son Timothy Ray (Nila Dalton) Young of Catlettsburg, Ky, a daughter Paula (Ronnie) Jackson of Rush, Ky, a brother William “Bill” Linda Young of Catlettsburg, Ky, a sister Ruby (David) Patrick of Ashland, Ky, 4 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Services for Cecil will be conducted Wednesday, March 17, 2021 at 2 p.m. at Lazear Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Lee Jackson with burial to follow in Golden Oaks Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 16, 2021. Due to COVID-19 all in attendance are required to properly wear masks and maintain a strict six-foot social distance. Lazear Funeral Home is both honored and privileged to have been entrusted with the care of Mr. Young.
