James Aaron McCoy, 50, of Catlettsburg, Ky died Thursday, March 5, 2026 at Wurtland Nursing and Rehab Center. He was born October 19, 1975 in Ashland, Ky a son of the late Earl Raymond and Bonnie Moore McCoy. He worked for UK Kings Daughters Medical Center in Environmental Services. He is preceded in death in addition to his parents by his brother Earl McCoy and sister Lou Ann McCoy. He is survived by his wife Jessica Catlin McCoy, his daughter Rachel McCoy, a sister Amanda (Mark) Walker, a niece Leigh Ann (Ronnie) Adkins, and three nephews Ethan, Dylan, and Gary Walker. Services for James will be conducted Monday, March 9, 2026 at 12:30 P.M. at the Lazear Funeral Home Chapel in Ashland by Pastor Kevin Campbell with burial to follow in Golden Oaks Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at the funeral home one hour before service time Monday. Lazear Funeral Home is both honored and privileged to have been entrusted with the care of Mr. McCoy.
