Lanny Dwight Hale 1950-2025

Lanny Dwight Hale, 75, of Russell, Ky went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, August 7, 2025, at the Community Hospice Care Center surrounded by his family. Lanny was born March 4, 1950, in Boyd Co., Ky a son of the late Charles and Julia Miles Hale, Sr. He was simple and humble man who loved God, his family, and his country. Lanny was a member of Flatwoods First Baptist Church and spent his working years as a Steel Worker for AK Steel. He was a United States Army Veteran who during his active-duty time served for 21 months in Vietnam. He is preceded in death in addition to his parents by two sisters Rita Stevens and Mata Leggett. He is survived by his loving wife Leiane Bramblette Hale, two sons Dwight Ryan Hale of Russell, Ky and Nathan Tyler Hale of Ashland, Ky, a grandson Bryson Elias Hale, two sisters Sheila Walker of Franklin Furnace, Oh and Marla Campbell of Catlettsburg, Ky, two brothers Charles Hale, Jr of Rush, Ky and Dwayne Hale of St. Petersburg, Fl, and a host of extended family and friends of whom he shared a special relationship with. In keeping with what Lanny wanted and who he was a private family graveside service with military burial honors will be conducted Friday, August 15, 2025, at the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery North East with Brother Jim Nichols and Brother David Daniels officiating. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Flatwoods First Baptist Church at 1206 Bluegrass St, Flatwoods, KY 41139. To Lanny’s family - I worked with Lanny at the Coke Plant, and played softball with him.  He was always quiet, and he had a smile that made you think he was sharing a secret with you.  I looked up to Lanny, and always considered him to have an air of dignity about him.  I will miss him very much.

Very sorry to hear of Lanny’s passing.
My wife Rebecca and I live in the house we purchased from Lanny and Leiane 31 years ago.
  Our prayers for Leiane,the two boys and grandson .
