Lena Frances Brainard
March 7, 1955 ~ March 19, 2020
Lena was a registered nurse specializing in oncology for 25 years at KDMC, she was nominated for the Edna Monk Quarterly Award twice, winning that award once. Lena loved nursing acquiring a master's degree in oncology care. She was an avid reader and loved her family and was a member of Grace Baptist Church
Parents William C. and Shirley E. Barker Brainard.
Proceeded in death by parents, one sister-in-law, Kathy Brainard and one great nephew, Stevie Brainard.
Survived by three brothers, William Brainard Jr. and wife Sharon of Flatwoods, Harold Brainard and wife Ann of Port St. Lucie FL., Kendall Brainard and wife Maudie of Catlettsburg.
Survived by six nieces and nephews, Debra Lynch (Mark) of Bradford, OH, Stephen Brainard of Stuart, FL, Marsha Bruce (James) of Wurtland, David Brainard (Amy) of Port Hueneme, CA, William H. Brainard of Louisville, and Joshua Brainard of Port St. Lucie, FL.
Survived by four great nieces and nephews, Ethan Brainard, Brooke Brainard, Cheyenne Brainard, and Hannah Lynch.
She is also survived by a host of extended family.
A private graveside service due to the governor's regulations of COVID-19 and not by the family's request will be given by Pastor Marvin Boggs.
