Okie Blanton Edwards, Jr. 89, of Ashland, Ky died Saturday, January 25, 2025 in Ironton, Oh. He was born May 2, 1945 in Boyd County, Ky a son of Okie Blanton Edwards, Sr. and Sarah Irene Hale Edwards. He was a United States Army Veteran and a Forklift Operator for Hanson Brick Company. He is preceded in death by his father and sister Bonnie Lou Edwards. He is survived by his mother Sarah Irene Hale Edwards, a sister Barbara Sue (Alex) Edwards Gillispie of Ashland, Ky, three nieces and a nephew. There are no services planned at this time for Okie. Lazear Funeral Home is both honored and privileged to have been entrusted with the care of Mr. Edwards.
