Teddy E. Higgins, 91, passed away Tuesday, November 3rd, 2024 surrounded by his family. He was born August 27, 1933 in Ashland, KY a son of the late Theodore Nolte and Maudilean (Edmon) Higgins. He retired from Ross Brothers Construction and always enjoyed riding his motorcycle with his lifelong friend, Jim Reihs. Teddy loved having visits with family and friends, especially his “girls”, his daughters. He was always known for his incredible skills that allowed him to fix almost anything. He took great pride in his work with meticulous attention to detail. He cherished celebrating birthdays and holidays with his family. Teddy was preceded in death by a sister, Janet Webb, a brother, John Higgins, a daughter, Marcia Jenkins, a stepson, Chuck Hensley and a granddaughter, Heather Sparks. Teddy is survived by his wife, Patricia Higgins; daughters Margo (Michael) Short of Georgetown, Ky, Barbara Patrick of Ashland, Karen (Bill) Waller of Georgetown and Angela (Todd) May of Ashland. He is also survived by his grandchildren Mary Kay Penn, John Patrick, Steve Anderson, Jason Patrick, Jennifer Orr, Jeremy May, Todd Ryan May, Jacob May and Gracie May. He loved and enjoyed 14 great grandchildren and one great, great grandchild. Funeral service will be held on Friday, November 8th at 1:00 PM at the Rose Hill Mausoleum Chapel, Pastor Jason Porter officiating. Lazear Funeral Home is both honored and privileged to have been entrusted with the care of Mr. Higgins.
