Virginia Wynell Collinsworth 1940-2026

Virginia Wynell Collinsworth, 86, of Ashland, Ky passed away Tuesday, June 16, 2026, at The Lantern at Morning Pointe in Russell surrounded by her family. Wynell was born May 7, 1940, in Delight, Arkansas, a daughter of the late John Boyce and Verna McLaughlin Hill. She was a Seamstress with Corbin Limited for over 30 years. She attended Second Baptist Church in Ashland. She was a former member of the Red Hat Society, she enjoyed her Bingo Club and was an Avid UK Wildcats fan regardless of where she was born. But most importantly, she was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who held family as the most important thing to her. While she was not a very social person, she loved those in her life very deeply. She is preceded in death in addition to her parents by her loving husband William M. “Tim” Collinsworth, three brothers and two sisters. She is survived by two daughters Vicki Stewart and Kelly (Steve) Chandler, three grandchildren Sarah Elizabeth Stewart, Cory Campbell, and Shay Chandler, a great-grandchild Camron Cordle, a sister Annie Feutral, and two sister-in-law’s Debbie Hill and Freida Hill. At Wynell’s request and in following her wishes there is no public visitation or funeral. Lazear Funeral Home is both honored and privileged to have been entrusted with the care of Mrs. Collinsworth.
