William E. Carpenter, 80, of Ashland, Ky died Saturday, December 14, 2024 at his home. He was born December 4, 1944 in Ashland, Ky a son of the late Robert and Hazel Horn Carpenter. He was an Army veteran of which he was very proud. He was a member of Crum Chapel Church and retired from Kentucky Electric Steel. He is preceded in death in addition to his parents by his wife Bonnie Howard Carpenter, five siblings Lucille Hogsten, John Carpenter, Patsy Clark, Ruby Hall, and Daniel Carpenter. He is survived by a son Michael Edward (Andrea Jean) Carpenter, two grandchildren Misty Lomax and Michael Carpenter, Jr., and a sister Roxie Hable. Services for William will be conducted Thursday, December 19, 2024 at 1:00 PM at the Lazear Funeral Home Chapel in Ashland by Pastor Larry Barker with burial to follow in Ashland Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home one hour before service time Thursday. Lazear Funeral Home is both honored and privileged to have been entrusted with the care of Mr. Carpenter.
