William H. “Bird” Gambill, 72, of Ashland, Ky died Tuesday, July 30, 2024 at the Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland. He was born February 23, 1952 in Boyd County, Ky a son of the late Herbert and Florence Elizabeth Grubb Gambill. He was a light equipment operator for the City of Ashland and ran his own auto detailing business. He is preceded in death in addition to his parents by his wife Teresa “T.C.” Gambill and a brother Roger Gambill. He is survived by a son Richard Howard (Joyce) Gambill of Ashland, Ky and a daughter Tara Gail Gambill of Ashland, Ky, a step son Virgil (Tracey) Griffith, a step daughter Kristie Griffith (Mike) Martin of Greenup County, Ky, 7 grandchildren Scott Gambill, Kaylyn Tackett, Jacob Martin, Aaron Martin, Hunter Martin, Corey Griffith, Madison Griffith, 6 great-grandchildren, and 2 sisters Faye (Jimmy) Crooks of Ashland, Ky and Kaye (Ronnie) Lewis of Elizabethtown, Ky. Services for Bill will be held Monday, August 5, 2024 at 12 Noon at the Lazear Funeral Home Chapel in Ashland by Chaplain Jimm Smedley with burial to follow in Golden Oaks Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at the funeral home one hour before service time Monday. Lazear Funeral Home is both honored and privileged to have been entrusted with the care of Mr. Gambill.
